Travel Books

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share with you my favorite books about travel. With Spring slowly coming upon us I can’t help but feel inspired to travel, especially someplace warm! So, if you want to feel some wanderlust, just keep reading!

1. Beastly by Alex Flinn

Although this movie wasn’t the best, I think the book is great! This is a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It takes place in New York City and makes me want to go to Brooklyn, eat Deli food, and read a book at a small cafe. This book is one of the most romantic I have ever read, so if you’re in the mood for a romance novel I highly recommend this!

2. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

I’m pretty sure everyone has read this book by now, but for good reason. This book is witty, romantic, and tragic all at the same time. Part of the book takes place in Amsterdam, which sounds like such a gorgeous place. Reading this books makes me want to ride river boats and kiss in a museum. This is a great book if by chance you haven’t read it already!

3. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

So, I went to Paris a few years ago and was very underwhelmed. I thought that it was highly overrated and that Parisians were super rude. But, after reading this book, I realized that I did Paris all wrong! I should’ve gone to small cinemas to watch old movies, grabbed a panini, and gone to Point Zéro to makes a wish. This book is also romantic, but will make you want to go to Paris immediately!

4. Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

I already talked about this in my makeup and book tag post, but this book is really cute. I have also been to Italy but, unlike like Paris, I absolutely loved it! The gelato was probably my favorite part, so creamy and refreshing…yum….But, this book takes place in Florence, Italy and is about an American girl who goes there to live with her mom’s old friend when she dies. It’s an adorable story, and goes into a lot of detail for Florence. Highly recommend if you are going to Italy anytime soon!

5. Bloom by Estée Lalonde

Estée Lalonde is a popular YouTuber, who I love! Her book is all about her life moving to England, finding herself, and falling in love. She has a whole, glorious section dedicated to travel. She has been to so many places from Austin, TX to India! This book made me want to drop everything and just travel the world! Also, it’s aesthetic goals.

6. Inspired Coloring Travel: Coloring to Relax and Free your Mind

This is the perfect coloring book to take with you on an airplane. It’s also good to use at home when you’re getting cabin fever. I love how this book includes all sorts of different places. It has coloring pages in America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, and they’re all gorgeous! Never in my life have I felt a desire to go to China, until seeing the beautiful pages in this book. Just sit down, color, and be ready to travel the world for a few hours.

I hope you enjoyed my picks for travel books! Please leave a comment of books that have made you want to travel, I love new recommendations! Also, leave a comment if you are going to travel anytime soon! I’m going to Las Vegas in a few months and I’m excited to get out of the cold weather in Minnesota for a few days! Until next week guys, thanks for reading!

  1. Hey. I love the idea of being inspired to visit somewhere from reading a book…fiction or otherwise…it feels strange to say I hadn’t thought of it like that before. I tend to buy Rough Guides if I decide to visit a country but that doesn’t help with the original decision.

  2. While none of them are the types of book I personally enjoy reading, I love how your enthusiasm for the book and places shone through and it made me smile. And made me want to go back to New York and Paris and Rome… 🙂 Thank you for your inspired trip down memory lane
